Integrity
The Jazz Ambassadors
is an audition-only admissions band, and includes many fine students and
the best semi-professional musicians in the Lexington area. Student
participation further reinforces our mission of outreach and community
involvement.
Leadership
The band is led
by Artistic Director Miles Osland, and by Musical Directors Raleigh Dailey
and Mark Clodfelter.
Miles Osland is currently Professor of
Saxophone and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Kentucky.
Raleigh Dailey is Professor of Jazz Piano at UK. The two have toured
extensively throughout the country, and are both recipients of the
Kentucky Art Council’s Al Smith Fellowship for Excellence in Composition.
Mark Clodfelter is Professor of Trumpet at UK, and has performed
world-wide with various artists, including Doc Severinsen and the late Ray
Charles.
